Kevin Browne: Songs
Nomad
(Kevin Browne)
August, 2005
Nomad is actually one of my students. He is very quiet. One week he started changing seats each day he came in and I would look for him. I nicknamed him Nomad. On the second verse I was actually thinking of Jesus.
Well he moves around from place to place
Sometimes we don’t even recognize his face
And he silently moves from point to point, but his
Disposition never seems to be out of joint
He’s a nomad, wandering around
He’s a nomad, nowhere to be found
He’s a nomad, seems content to roam
He’s a nomad, will he ever find a home?
Well he enters town on this dirty street
With a pair of worn-out shoes on his feet
But he finds no place to lay his head
So he searches for a meal instead
